Welcome to our new Initiatives

In December 2016 we launched the Competition of Light Pollution Initiatives (LPI).

We are pleased about the high response and the quality and diversity of the received proposals. The STARS4ALL committee has chosen ten new initiatives to become part in the STARS4ALL community for defending dark skies in Europe. Some ideas were merged, because they showed a lot of agreement. The proposals were selected as follows:

  • EDUCATION ON LIGHT POLLUTION
  • ASTRONOMIC PARK AT CLUJ-NAPOCA + STAR PARKS + PARKS IN THE NIGHT
  • BUIOMETRIA PARTICIPATIVA
  • PHOTOMETERS AT THE MACARONESIAN
  • FACADES LIGHTING
  • HUNTING THE TRUE NOCTURNAL DARKNESS IN EUROPE
  • VIRTUALNIGHT + SKYEYE
  • DARK SKY METER
  • CAN YOU SEE THE STARS?
  • STUDENTS & TEACHERS APPRECIATING RURAL STARS THROUGH QUALITY LIGHTING

Many thanks to all the participants! We highly appreciate your commitment to dark skies in Europe and will soon announce the winners, inform all participants about the future initiatives and how your LPI will be incorporated in the STARS4ALL platform.
