The beautiful city Miraflores de la Sierra (50 km north of Madrid) has recently held the First Conference on Light Pollution in the Guadarrama National Park organized by the city, the Department of Astrophysics and Atmospheric Science from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park and the collaboration of members of the Spanish Network of Studies on Light Pollution (REECL) .

The Conference was possible thanks to Julio Vias, the enviroment councilman of the City of Miraflores de la Sierra, who explains in his blog his concern about light pollution. Jaime Zamorano presented STARS4ALL and its Light Pollution Initiatives at the conference. Jesús Gallego and Carlos Tapia hold a public observation at night.
